TY Activities Feb
Our TY’s have had a very busy few weeks. Garda Ken Butler from the Road Traffic Corps came in at the start of the month and gave a two-hour presentation on road safety to all the TY’s.
TY 5 and TY 6 completed a one day basic first aid course.
Thomas Barr, the former Irish Olympian runner did a half day workshop on teamwork with each individual class where they had to learn to work together to complete a task.
Over 137 students and 14 teachers travelled to Europe on a border hopping trip during the Feb Mid-Term where they visited Brussels, Cologne, Eftling in Holland and Ghent.A great time was had by all.
On Tuesday last all the TY’s took part in a retreat up in the boarding school which was organised by the religion department
On Thursday morning all the TY’s got the chance to take part in a mock interview. Organised by Junior Achievement Ireland, 16 volunteers from a range of businesses and organisations in Ennis and Shannon such as Clare Co. Council, Zimmer and Verizon Ireland came in to interview the students as well as giving feedback to each individual student on how they performed. Overall, the feedback from the volunteers was extremely positive and they were very impressed with the quality and confidence of the students that sat before them.
