1st Year Ladies Football – Clare Schools Cup
Well done to our 1st year girls who produced a dominant display against a strong Coláiste Mhuire side last Monday.
Captained by Holly Farmer, the team initially found it difficult to break down the Coláiste defence, but points from Orlaith Flanagan, Ailbhe O’Neill, Orla Seery and Amy Mangan helped them settle into the game and find their rhythm. A breakaway goal from Coláiste’s lively corner forward Alannah Lyne briefly lifted the opposition, but a flurry of scores from Flannan’s ensured they went into half-time in a comfortable position.
The girls continued their impressive performance in the second half and eventually ran out convincing winners, securing the Clare Schools A Cup for the second year in succession.
