St. Flannan’s college swim team performed brilliantly at Sunday’s Munster Senior Schools event winning medals of every colour. Oran Arkins kicked off the day with two pb’s. The Intermediate relay team of John Cleary, Fionn Carolan, Daniel Rodriguez and Sam Liddane won bronze in the medley relay and then secured silver in their freestyle relay event. In the afternoon, buoyed up by the wins of the morning session, Aimee Finn took a whopping 7 seconds off her pb in the 100 backstroke, followed by two more personal bests from John and Fionn. Implementation of the New Bí Cineálta Anti-Bullying Procedures

Dear Parent/Guardian, We have updated our Anti-Bullying Policy to align with the new Bí Cineálta Anti-Bullying Procedures. These new procedures play an important role in helping us provide a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all our students. They also place a strong focus on preventing bullying behaviour through awareness, education, and early intervention. We have met with all year groups to discuss the new guidelines and procedures. Languages: your bridge to the future

 On October 16th, along 400 European schools and 700 students, thirty-three St. Flannan’s College students took part in an EU-wide online workshop on the topic of “Language Learning for College and your Future Career”, organised by the European Commission. The workshop started with an exploration of the importance of languages for college and future career, and an overview of the supports offered by the EU. This was followed by a presentation on the effect of AI on language learning and the new career paths emerging in this field. World Champion

Congratulations to our TY student Ethan who is just after returning home from an unforgettable week of competition at the Taekwondo world championships. This year’s ITF Taekwondo world championships were held in Croatia and 60 countries had sent representatives to compete.  Ethan became a world champion in junior -60kg class.  He spent his week sparring in a category of 46 competitors.  On his way to glory he beat opponents from Canada, Slovenia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine Spain and Italy. Junior B Munster Camogie RD2: St. Flannan’s 3.11 – 1.14 Kinsale CS Our Junior Camogie team had an early start this morning as they travelled to Cork Camogie grounds to take on Kinsale Community School in Round 2 of the Munster Junior B Camogie competition.  Cait Clancy kicked proceedings off with a well taken point, followed by 6 points from Kinsale without reply. U19 & U16 Girls Basketball

After an excellent start to the season, this week was to be a challenging week for the U16 and U19 girls teams. Both age groups played Coláiste Muire earlier in the week in the Schools League before the U19 team travelled to Dingle to play Coláiste Íde in the Schools Cup.
