Our Junior SVP Conference are running their annual “Spring Clean” clothing appeal in aid of our local St. Vincent de Paul from Monday April 13th to Friday April 17th. The appeal is open to the whole school community and members of the public. It is a great way to clear out used/unwanted clothing from home while also helping our local community. Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon GAA Post Primary Sponsorship

We were delighted yesterday to welcome representatives from Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon to St. Flannan’s College as part of the Post-Primary Schools GAA sponsorship. Representatives from the company presented some of our coaches with their new gear. Badminton

Congratulations to our U16 Boys who won silver medals in today’s All Ireland Badminton final. The boys were representing St.Flannan’s College and Munster.They had strong wins over the two schools representing Ulster and Leinster and narrowly missed out to the school representing Connaught. The standard of badminton was very high and the boys showed an excellent display of sportsmanship.  Hard luck to our U14 girls who were unsuccessful on the day after a number of tough competitions.  Well done to all involved. Victory in IMTA Junior Certificate Pi Maths Quiz 2026

We would like to extend our congratulations to Luke, Conor, Vihan and Conor, pictured here with their teacher Mr. Walsh, on their victory in the IMTA Junior Cycle Pi Maths Quiz Regional Round.   With a strong and consistent performance throughout, they held off stiff competition from another St. Flannan’s team—Evan, Cathal, Ciarán and Joseph—who were guided by their teacher Mr. Ryan and pushed them all the way to the final round. 2nd Year Boys Basketball.

Our 2nd year boys basketball team were in action today in their regional final against Gort Community School.  The lads took control of the game early on and finished with a comfortable lead of 17 points.  This win has secured their place in the playoffs for the All Ireland series. Girls Basketball – Regional Semi-Finals & Finals – SIlver Medals

Today was regional semi-final and final day in Athea for our girls basketball teams. After an early rise, the 1st year team took on Hazelwood College in their semi-final. The game was back and forth over the first three quarters before a strong final quarter from our girls put the game to bed and earned themselves a spot in the final, to be played later that day.  Up next, the 2nd year team had a tough test against Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine.
