Sofia won the Marcel Marceau Cup for Solo Mime (Under 18) and the Edwards MacLiammoir Cup for Senior Dramatic Solo (Over 16). She also secured second place in the Senior Poetry Composition.
Alex was awarded the Féile Luimnigh 2025 Senior Bursary and received the Joe O’Connor Memorial Cup. He also won the Treaty Trophy for Poetry Recital, the Anew McMaster Cup for his Shakespearean Monologue and Sonnet, and the Senior Poetry Composition category. Additionally, he placed second in the Dramatic Solo competition.
Cillian achieved second place in the Senior Poetry Composition (Under 18).

A Eucharistic Celebration took place in the College Chapel on Friday – February 7th for the all Leaving Certificate students. The theme of the liturgy was (Alive in Christ ). The 1st Year girls’ LGFA panel from St. Flannan’s College secured their second victory in the Clare Schools competition on Friday, overcoming a strong Ennistymon Community School side in Lahinch.
Flannan’s started brightly, with inside forwards Alli Donnelly and Ellie Sheedy combining for six early points. Wing forward Sarah Brodie added to the momentum with two well-taken goals, giving Flannan’s a commanding lead. Last November, our Leaving Certs had the opportunity to experience King Lear at the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone. Performed by the Gaeity School of Acting, this well known tragedy was brought to life. The follow on Q&A session gave our students a greater understanding of the play’s key themes and characters.

The Literacy Committee (Ms. Cregan, Ms. di Francesco, Ms. Durcan, Ms. Kelly and Ms. Ward under the leadership of Ms. Culleton,) is proud to announce that St. Flannan’s College has been selected by Children’s Books Ireland as one of just six post-primary schools nationwide to participate in the “Everyone a Reader” programme this year.
Through the gifting of 250 books, creative and practical supports, as well as visits from a designated ‘Champion of Reading’, students will be empowered to read more, enjoy reading more and read more widely.

At 13:30 in Kilmallock on Wednesday, the atmosphere was immense. Both schools had brought large crowds to the game, and it had all the feels of an edgy Harty semi-final before throw-in.
