Junior B Munster Camogie RD2: St. Flannan’s 3.11 – 1.14 Kinsale CS

Our Junior Camogie team had an early start this morning as they travelled to Cork Camogie grounds to take on Kinsale Community School in Round 2 of the Munster Junior B Camogie competition.

Cait Clancy kicked proceedings off with a well taken point, followed by 6 points from Kinsale without reply. Flannan’s were playing into a strong breeze and did well to recover before half time. Captain Caoimhe Neylon rattled the net at a vital point in the half, and followed up with a point from the Kinsale puckout, allowing Flannan’s to keep a foothold in the game. Cait chipped in with another goal, and we headed into second half only a point down, after Kinsale tagged on 3 more points.
Chroia Casey, Emma O Connor and Holly Farmer worked tirelessly to keep a very strong Kinsale side from reaching the net.

We were assisted by the breeze in the 2nd half however after 10 mins we were 5 points down with a lot of work to do. Amy Duggan won a huge amount of possession and her delivery into  forwards proved crucial, with a well worked move seeing Aly Carmody strike for goal. This was the turning point in the game. Flannan’s took charge from here and finished out with a 4 point victory.
