All Ireland Camogie 7’s 2026

Congratulations to our Junior Camogie players on securing the All-Ireland Post Primary 7’s B final on Thursday last, having dispelled something of a famine in this competition for the school. It was in 2010 when the school last won the All-Ireland ‘B’ 7’s cup, with a run of wins in 2011 to 2014 in the A following suit. In the B grade this year, teams from Leinster, Connacht and Ulster took to the field in the Meath GAA Centre of Excellence.

The girls produced a sprightly start to the day with a win over Mountrath Community School of Laois. The Leinster side proved tough opponents with each side initially trading score for score. St. Flannan’s, through Cait Clancy, Sarah Brodie and Alli Donnelly, produced a masterclass in scoring, winning out the game on a scoreline of 6.3 to 3.1.

Our second-round game pitted us against our Connacht neighbours in Loughrea, St. Brigids. Although scoring was at a premium in this game, it was the defensive efforts of Aimee Travers, Muirne Mescall, Sadhbh Geary, Clara Vaughan and Emily Hick that shone through. The girls fought up and down the field to keep St. Brigids at bay, eventually winning out on a scoreline of 6.3 to 0.1.

With both St. Conor’s College, Antrim and St. Flannan’s having secured top spots in the campaign, our group game acted as our final fixture. Having watched St. Conor’s throughout the day, the girls knew a marking job would have to be done on several players. Holly Farmer, Chrioa Casey and Orla Seery stepped up to the mark to keep tabs on St. Conor’s best players, and what a job they did. This allowed the rest of the team moments of pure magic and none other than vital saves from Gemma Minogue Clune. It was a pulsating contest with Flannan’s being pushed all the way. Alli and Cait were proving a handful for the opposition, with drama unfolding when Alli sustained an injury with four minutes remaining. To their massive credit, rather than surrender her teammates rallied magnificently before emerging victorious on a 6-3 to 4-1 scoreline.
