I am very pleased to inform you that the Board of Management has appointed Mr Gary Brennan as the third Deputy Principal of St. Flannan’s College. Mr Brennan now joins the Senior Leadership Team alongside Mr Donal Cahir, Principal; Ms Gráinne Lynch, Deputy Principal and Mr Michael Donnellan, Deputy Principal;

Round 2 of the Clare Colleges Junior A Camogie took place on Wednesday last in Clarecastle 4G. St. Flannan’s had two games facing Colaiste Muire and St. Joseph’s Tulla.
In the opening game against Colaiste Muire, St. Flannan’s started brightly and immediately set the tone with sharp passing and determined tackling. From the throw-in, the Flannan’s midfield, particularly Caoimhe Francis worked tirelessly to supply quality ball into the forward line, putting Colaiste under early pressure. The 1st and 2nd year girls basketball teams topped their groups today after two close games with Ennistymon. The 1st years fought back from a losing position to win by 6 points in a tightly fought contest. This was followed by a back and forth game between the 2nd year sides with the Flannan’s girls gaining the edge in the 3rd quarter and closing out the game from there. Well done to all the athletes who represented St Flannans in Riverstick before the midterm break. Great performances on the day resulted in the Minor Girls, Minor Boys and Junior Girls winning the Gold team medals. 21 of our students will travel on the 7th March to compete in the All Irelands.

Well done to our 1st year boys soccer team who booked their place in a North-Munster semi-final today after a hard-fought 2-1 win over St. Anne’s of Killaloe.Trailing 1-0 at the half, two second half goals from Joseph Sillman, and a last minute header from captain Dan Kelleher was enough to secure the win.

Our 1st and 2nd years girls basketball teams were in action again this week against Coláiste Muire Ennis. After a very close 1st quarter, our 1st years were able to get on top of the game and put a gap between the two teams on the scoreboard. The girls kept the momentum going into the 4th quarter and came away with a well earned victory. Following this, the 2nd years took to the court and were excellent from the start as they ran out comfortable victors. Well done to both teams on their wins.
