Good evening Parents and Students, On this Feast Day of St. Flannan, I wish to advise that the appointment process for Principal has been completed. I am very pleased to inform you that the Board of Management has appointed Mr. Donal Cahir as Principal of St. Flannan’s College commencing on 5th January 2026. Donal has a long-standing career at St. Flannan’s College having joined the staff in 1999 as teacher of Technology, DCG and MTW. U19 Girls Basketball – Regional Semi Final

Our U19 girls basketball team competed in the regional semi-final last week against Laurel Hill Coláiste. The game was finely balanced through the first two quarters with just four points separating the sides at half-time. The opposition managed to extend their lead in the third quarter, and despite a strong effort, our girls were unable to close the gap before the final buzzer. This result brings the U19 season to a close, with the focus now turning to 1st and 2nd year basketball which begins in the new year. Read More >

TY Update

Well done to all those TY’s who took part in several taster apprenticeship courses over recent weeks.16 students spent three weeks in the FET campus in Kilrush with 8 students partaking in a Construction and Groundworks course and the other 8 in a Woodwork and Resin course. 8 students spent two weeks in Kilrush also partaking in a Hair and Nails/Beauty course. All 24 students received their certs today so well done to all.  Over the last two weeks 20 of our students took part in a one-week music technology course in the FET Campus in Ennis. Tomorrow, Friday 12th December, we will hold a Christmas Jumper / Non-Uniform Day in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. Cost: €2 per pupil. Prizes will be awarded for the best Christmas jumpers. Tomorrow is also the final day of our SVP Toy Appeal. Each pupil received a token with the age of a child to buy a gift for. We are accepting new or unused/recycled toys, which will be collected in class tomorrow morning.  Thank you for helping us support families in our community this Christmas. Read More >

U16 and U19 Boys Basketball Regional Winners

A massive congratulations to all members of our U16 and U19 Boys Basketball teams who won their Regional Final in Galway City last week. This victory for both squads secured their places in the All Ireland League playoffs. TY Students Explore Skilled Trades in Kilrush
